Best Buy stores in the US now include customer ratings from their websites in product description cards in physical stores. Online star ratings next to products help influence store visitors browsing through the products.
Best Buy could go a step ahead by adding online reviews from the website that are authenticated and marked as helpful. This would provide contextual and relevant information to help shopper make a purchase decision.
Scanning the QR code at the bottom left should be more obvious and would ideally show the product name and picture along with reviews for the product to meet customer expectations around what information they need to make an informed purchase decision.
It would also benefit retailers if the shopper journey that started with scanning the QR code could track them to purchase so that it can also prompt for online reviews at opportune moments.
Fast forward a year to 5/10/18, Best Buy stores are still utilizing customer rating data above the price.
